Carolyn Welch moved to Lawrence in 1996 and has assisted with the Lawrence Children's Choir since 1997. She teaches vocal music at Southwest Junior High School and is active in music ministry at First United Methodist Church.

Ms. Welch holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado, and a Bachelor's in Music Education from Minnesota State University. She serves on the Lied Center's Adventures in Imagination Board and is a board member of the Kansas Choral Director's Association, serving as Children's Choir co-Chair.

Ms. Welch recently published an instructional book and CD package for beginning adult singers called "Sing Better Now." She is the current state chair for the Treble Honors Choir for Kansas, and is active in the American Choral Director’s Association.
