Sara Bonner grew up singing with her family in Iowa. She moved to Kansas to attend college in 1985 and graduated from Bethel College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Sara began her teaching career in with Hesston Public Schools in 1990 and joined the Lawrence Public Schools the following year. In 1994 she earned her Master of Music Education degree from Wichita State University. Sara’s thesis was titled “Spontaneous Songs of Kindergarteners” and many of her studies included preschool music education courses.  During her 20 years of teaching elementary music she has enjoyed teaching preschool classes, university courses, and presenting various presentations for teachers on music education research and teaching strategies. Sara is a member of Music Educators National Association as well as the Society for Research for Early Childhood Education. Sara and her husband, Wes, have four children.
