Grades 5-10
THE TOUR CHOIR EXPERIENCE:
Tour Choir members master an ambitious number of songs each year, ranging from unison to four-part harmony. A wide variety of choral literature is sung, including songs in foreign languages. Singers are expected to spend 90 minutes per week outside of rehearsal in private practice (materials are provided).
Extra opportunities can arise for Tour Choir members. In recent years, these invitations have included singing with the Boston Camerata (2018) in KC; with the Kansas Nutcracker at the Lawrence Arts Center (2018); and with the Kansas City Symphony at the Kauffman Center (“Carmina Burana”, 2019).
While such things cannot be guaranteed, graduates of the LCC Tour Choir tend to excel in their high school choral programs and beyond, participating in top school choirs, successfully auditioning for All-State and other honor choirs, and earning college scholarships for choral participation.
